Thank a Candidate

When is the last time you sent a thank you email to a candidate? Not a confirmation for the next meeting, but a genuine thank you email?

Why would you send a candidate a thank you note outside of a traditional confirmation email?

  • They are an absolute rockstar and you want them to know it.

  • The candidate is not interested right now but you had a great meeting

  • The candidate is not going to be interested but you had a good meeting and hope to make them a COI

They are a Rockstar and you want them to know it

Hi {Candidate},

It was such a pleasure meeting with you today. Like I said, your background in [insert something personalized] could align really well with the values NM has and the life this could provide.

I look forward to introducing you to our [Managing Director/Managing Partner] at some point in the future. I think you would really enjoy the conversation with him/her.

Thank you,

The candidate is not interested right now

Hi [Candiate],

What a great meeting! Thanks for taking time out of your day. I loved learning about your [something personal about their professional background] and more about [something from their personal life].

I completely appreciate that this is not the right time but again, I think there is alignment between you and this career, with this company that I hope you continue to explore in the future.

Keep in touch!

The candidate is not going to be interested but you had a good meeting and hope to make them a COI
