High Schools
We tend to focus on recruiting from colleges but forget to utilize the high school network. Remember, if people are from a high school nearby, the likelihood they have a bigger local market increases significantly.
First—Who do you know that went to those schools?
Don’t know, no problem. Search the name of the high school on LinkedIn and search for only 1st degree connections.
Second— Ask for a meeting with that COI or Rep who went to the school and feed prospecting questions like:
“We find so many people who went to {school name} are super well connected in the community. Who do you know who went to school with you who still lives in the area?”
“Who is someone you went to high school with who is absolutely crushing it right now?”
“Who did you go to school with who may be considering a career change?”
Third— Search a broader community
Search String:
“{Insert School}” AND (“Sales” OR “Business Development”)
Language:
“Hi [Name], This is going to bed a little bit random but I have come across multiple people recently who happen to have gone to {school name}. I figured I would see if any others popped up in a search that would be interested in a career conversation. If you are open to it, I would love to introduce myself and our firm.”
Happy sourcing!
