ATTRACTING TOP TALENT
One of the questions we get most often is “how do I attract the best talent” to my team/office? So, when we get that question, how do we answer it? We went to our team and got their best advice for attracting top talent to your office…
• “Send a podcast, book, or article after meeting a candidate that directly relates to the conversation you just had, but note that it does not necessarily have to be business related.”
• “Invite a candidate to your next fun team event! It is an amazing way to build the relationship right off the bat.”
• “Something that always attracted me to accept a job offer is when the hiring team learned what was important to me and then identified how it could be incorporated within my work schedule. Example: kids are most important to me so the hiring team made sure to inform me how much they value family and flexibility for things such as school drop off/pick up or school performances. That is more important to me than compensation.”
• “Have a highly selective process and communicate that. Show candidates that the alignment of culture is important. Show that you want to put them in the best possible seat on the bus for their career path and that what is important to them aligns with what is important to you. Right fit, right timing, and right reasons.”
• “Make it clear that there is much room for growth. Bring in someone who started in the position they are applying for and now has a higher up position so that they can see what an opportunity is really is.”
• “It almost sounds so cliched to say, but double check social media. Make sure that all accounts are a great reflection of the company, team, and culture.
Maybe some of these will help, or at least spark a few ideas on how to pull in the best talent and take your team to a whole other level.
